Maryland State House Rainy Day Activities in Maryland

Tour the Maryland State House
This is one of the oldest and the most significant buildings in Maryland. Built in the 18th century during the American Revolution, the building is rich with Americn history. The Continental Congress held meetings in the old senate chambers from 1783 to 1784.

Not only is the building rich in political history, it also has an architectural design that is unique and breathtaking. Though the building is still used for official state affairs, it is open to the public for visits and self-guided tours. The Banneker-Douglass museum is one of the museums dedicated to preserving the African American heritage in Maryland. Established in 1984, the Banneker-Douglass museum holds a lot of African American culture and history. It was named after Benjamin Banneker and Fredrick Douglass, two prominent individuals who worked diligently to end slavery in America. Arundel Olympic Swim Center Rainy Day Activities for Kids in MD

There are many places to spend a rainy day in Maryland. Arundel Olympic Swim Center offers the possibility for having memorable water fun with your friends and family.
